Alumni Spotlight: Alan Griffin

Alan Griffin, president/CEO of MCBS, LLC, a local healthcare company specializing in all areas of practice management and billing services, has taken on the duty of chair of the re-established Hull College Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board meets twice a year and assists the College with advice on curriculum, fundraising, community engagement, and branding.

Griffin is a double alumnus of the college, graduating in 1982 with a BBA in accounting and then in 1987 with an MBA.

“I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as Chair of the Hull College Advisory Board. The education I received at the College has been a great benefit to me throughout the years. The opportunity to give back to the College, students, and community are very important to me,” Griffin said.

Griffin has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He started with the Augusta-based billing services firm in 1995 as Vice President of Sales and Finance, taking the helm as president and CEO in 2000.

In addition to practice management and billing services, MCBS also specializes in strategic planning, practice merger and start up, joint ventures, facility development, financial planning and analysis, physician services, and billing operations.

Professionally, Griffin has been a member of the Medical Group Management Association since 1991 and a member of the Radiology Business Management Association since 1995. He currently serves on the Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care Community Board. Additionally, he served on the Board of Governors at the Augusta Country Club and was president in 2019, the American Red Cross of Augusta, and he is a former member and past president of the Uptown Kiwanis Club of Augusta.

Griffin is a member of First Baptist Church, where he has served on various committees over the years to include the Pastor Search, Finance, Property, and Stewardship Committees. He is married to Angela Adams Griffin, and they have two married children and two grandchildren.
