Welcome Dr. Susan Murray!

The Hull College welcomes accounting faculty member, Professor Susan Murray. After a few weeks adjusting to her first semester at Augusta University and the Hull College, Professor Murray shared, “I am loving it here at AU! The students are engaged, thoughtful, and interesting people who have unending potential to contribute to our world.” Although Professor Murray is new to Augusta University, she is not new to the accounting profession or higher education.

Professor Murray comes to the Hull College from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville located outside of St. Louis, Missouri, where she served as an accounting faculty member for five years. Prior to pursuing her PhD in Accounting from Texas Tech and beginning her career in academics, Professor Murray obtained her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas-Austin and joined the Navy as a Watch Officer through the ROTC program. Upon completing her military career, she then earned an MBA degree from Hawaii Pacific University and spent the next few years pursuing a professional accounting career in The Netherlands while obtaining additional credentials such as the CPA, CGMA, CMA, and CFM to name a few.

When asked about her time at the Hull College, Susan says, “The Hull faculty have been so responsive and supportive of me, they have really helped me get off to a great start – I am really grateful.”  The Hull College is enthusiastic about having Professor Murray share her wealth of experience and passion for student success and learning.
